The Board of Spokane Free Speech is creating its 2025 schedule and will post the topics and dates in mid February. Events will be held in the evening at the multi-purpose room of Hutton Elementary School on Spokane's South Hill from 7-8:45 pm.
Should you wish to be placed on our email list or to contact us please see page labeled "Contact".
The Debate Topics of 2024 (details on Events page)
"Pediatric COVID Vaccinations & Free Speech"
"Update on Transgender Medicine: What You Should Know"
"The Role of Abortion in Reproductive Health Care"
"Ten Minutes to Midnight: Debt, Inflation, and the Looming Enslavement"
"The U.S. Moral and Strategic Obligation to Provide Military Aid to Ukraine in its War with Russia.”
"The Adverse Impact of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion on Medical Care, Medical Education, and Research."
The free expression of ideas is a pillar of a just society, and differences of opinion should be viewed as an opportunity to learn and advance knowledge.
Presentations are designed to challenge strongly held views and may result in feelings that are for some attendees unsettling. The Association’s Board considers this discomfort beneficial to scholarship.
Events, which are arranged by the Association, will be debate-style or single-speaker, dependent upon the identification and availability of authoritative participants. There is always time allotted for audience members to offer brief comments or questions.
